It's no secret that 2020 was a challenge for many of us. Many businesses needed to pivot and find new ways to survive the wave while dealing with personal health challenges and the wellbeing of family and friends. For Honeybee Arts, it was a challenge to stay afloat, but this challenge also created space and time for the company's evolution and growth. Honeybee Arts LLC's new mission is to use the arts as a tool for facilitating fun, creative, and educational experiences on a foundation of wellness. We are proud to provide new programming to our community, starting this year! Great news! Honeybee Arts founder and lead artist, Avilda Whittmore, is now an RYT 200 Yoga Instructor, registered with the Yoga Alliance. With the help of Avilda and other great yoga instructors, Honeybee Arts will be positioned to provide enriching and engaging wellness programs for your family, community program, or corporate function.
Programs Youth Yoga Workshops (Live or virtual) 30 MIN-45 MIN Duration As part of Honeybee Arts' commitment to facilitating fun, creative, and educational experiences on a foundation of wellness, we are pleased to provide yoga for ages 3 and up. Mindfulness Through Art & Movement Workshops (Live or virtual) 30 MIN-2HR Duration This program includes an open-ended art activity followed by yoga, and is designed to help participants focus on being present in the moment while acknowledging and accepting their feelings and passing thoughts, in addition to building awareness of their bodies. Please keep in mind that, at this time, Honeybee Arts LLC does not employ yoga teachers who are licensed therapists. We do not offer therapy or counseling of any kind, however, we are skilled at building mind-body connections, physical wellness, and mental states of well being through our experiences with yoga practice, yoga philosophy, and working with ages 3 through seniors in the field of art.

Art is an expression of the creative self, and is a completely immersive experience that allows us to explore, test, learn, exercise, expand and cultivate our essence. Who says that education needs to stop during a birthday party? I think many of us can agree that the most enjoyable and effective exercise we experience is the kind where we don't realize we are exercising at all - insert Zumba, I mean, dancing, here. I create spaces of freedom and focus where individuals, young and old, can learn and develop new skills, experiment through imitation and play, and exercise their unique voices through various enriching activities, whether the playground be a group art class or a birthday party! Art in any form is such a powerful tool, that I believe it can and should be used for the holistic development of every man, woman and child. For those who view themselves as separate from experienced artists, the act of creating a work of art with their own hands boosts confidence, tremendously! It's evident every single time I hear the "ooo's and ahhh's" as a painting begins to rise from the canvas as something intentional and recognizable by the once, inexperienced artist. The first step to greatness is knowing that greatness is achievable, and that it comes from within you, no matter who you are. Artistic practices can be embedded in multiple aspects of our lives. These teaching moments don't have to end with traditional school settings, and can continue at the dinner table, during freetime, or during your next celebration with friends and family.
